Nicolas Cage was arrested for allegedly pushing his wife during a drunken row.
Police in New Orleans say witnesses saw the 47-year-old actor—who appeared "heavily intoxicated"—arguing with Alice Kim in the early hours of yesterday morning (April 16).
The couple were outside a house in the French Quarter which Nicolas said they were renting. But when Alice told him the property was not the one they were staying in, the actor reportedly grabbed her arm and started hitting cars before shouting at a police officer.
He was taken into custody after he refused to get out of a taxi when asked to by the officer who had been alerted by concerned onlookers. Cage was charged with domestic abuse, disturbing the peace, and public drunkenness.
According to the police report, the officer "immediately observed that Cage was heavily intoxicated" and his wife showed "no visible signs of injury."
The Drive Angry star was released on bail today (April 17) for £11,000 by former reality star Duane Chapman, according to RadarOnline.com.
Duane—known for appearing in Dog The Bounty Hunter—reportedly had his company issue the bond through local firm Blair's Bail Bonds. His wife Beth wrote about the incident on the micro-blogging website Twitter.
She tweeted: "My guy just walked out of the jail damn new Orleans 8 hours holy cow that's a lot of time to process one guy. (sic)"
