Ocean Drive Magazine Celebrates their April Latin Issue with Artist Miguel Paredes

On Thursday, April 21st, Ocean Drive Magazine hosted an event in the heart of Miami's Wynwood Arts District to celebrate their April Latin Issue. Since Ocean Drive Magazine featured Miguel Paredes as one of this month's "Miami Faces," the event was held at the Miguel Peredes Fine Art Gallery (173 NW 23rd Street). Paredes [pictured on the right alongside the glamorous Elaine Lancaster] is an Urban Realist who combines cutting edge techniques of street art, pop art and Japanese animation to create his one-of-a-kind pieces. During the event, guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres while checking out the beautiful artwork on display. This event not only honored Paredes but it also benefited St. Jude Children's Research Hospital because 10% of the evening's art sales were donated to the organization. If you didn't get a chance to attend this event, you can visit the Miguel Paredes Fine Art Gallery during Wynwood's Art Walk on Saturday, May 14th, from 5-10 p.m. There will be food and drinks for all guests so make sure you RSVP early [email rsvp@miguelparedes.com]. Here's a glimpse of the gallery:

Above Right: My beautiful friend Natalie Arroyave and her friend attended the event to support Miguel Paredes. Natalie is the host of Miami Music Television. Love her!!!

Don't forget to pick up a copy of Ocean Drive Magazine's April Latin Issue to read how Miguel Paredes juggles art and entrepreneurship. For more information on the mission of the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to donate online, visit their website and help make a difference in the lives of kids with cancer.

Sanrio hosts their "Small Gift Miami" Exhibition and brings Art Basel to a whole new level!

Sanrio is celebrating their 50th Year Anniversary during Art Basel so make sure to catch your favorite characters and the coolest art exhibits before 7 p.m. today! On Thursday, December 2nd, I attended their opening night party with my girlfriends. We loved every second of this "Hello Kitty Heaven" [like my friend Maria called it]. Sanrio completely transformed a warehouse in Miami's Wynwood Art District to provide Hello Kitty fans with a full fledged 50th Anniversary Bash! Here are some fun photos from the night:

After checking out the Sanrio Smart Cars on our way into the event, we couldn't help but notice the incredible history behind Sanrio. Small Gift Miami actually features a 35-foot wall with a time line of characters (pictured above). Did I mention that my friends and I marveled over the Hello Kitty chandeliers throughout the ceiling?

Here's a sample of the incredible works of art on display.

My friends and I enjoying Sanrio's Small Gift Miami Art Exhibition and pop-up store. To learn more about Sanrio's upcoming city tours, visit www.Sanrio.com/smallgift.

The event features two tattoo parlors. Guests who stroll through Small Gift Miami can receive a free Sanrio tattoo if they are interested. Check out that painting of "The Last Supper"...Sanrio style!

Happy 50th Anniversary to Sanrio and Hello Kitty!!!! Here's a fun video I shot to capture the scene during the event in Miami...

Cafeina's "A Nightmare on 23rd Street" along with Hostess & Guest DJ, Elaine Lancaster

Last night, I attended an amazing Halloween bash at Cafeina Wynwood Lounge in Miami's Art District. Cafeina is a really cool hot spot my friends. It is a multi-room lounge and art gallery. Did I mention it also has an outdoor garden area with beautiful sofas and bars. Their Halloween event was called "A Nightmare on 23rd Street" and it was hosted by Miami's hottest Drag Queen, Elaine Lancaster (pictured above). This ultra fabulous "Miami Housewife" is also a DJ! It was one of the funnest night's ever! Throughout the evening, guests were treated to complimentary SOCO shots every time Freddy Kreuger's theme song would play. Talk about a TREAT! If you want to check out Cafeina, check out their Facebook Page for upcoming events or log onto their website.

Top Right: Yours truly along with Elaine Lancaster!
